VET NURSES
Jess Jessica completed her VCE in 2004, and started her nursing career at Springvale Animal Hospital in February 2006 after taking a year off from studies. She is currently studying a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing and has recently completed the Hill's Veterinary Nutritional Advocate course.
Jessica loves all kinds of animals and has nine pets at the moment: · Monty - a five year old Boxer dog who is always in high spirits and enjoys long walks along the beach · Foster - a two year old Domestic Short Hair (hand-reared from three weeks of age) · Mimi - a domineering nine year old Domestic Short Hair · Napoleon & Squirt - two very noisy Rainbow Lorikeets · Big Bird – a two year old Indian Ringneck parrot · Butternut, Bubbles and Bob - the goldfish Jessica's tasks at Springvale include, regular reception and surgical nursing, puppy pre school classes and management of pathology. She enjoys meeting all different animals and their humans, and she particularly enjoys surgical nursing.
Away from work Jessica enjoys shopping and socialising with her friends.
ReneeRenee began her Veterinary Nurse career working in a large mixed animal practice in the Hunter valley in New South Wales. It was here that she completed her training and qualified as a Certificate IV Veterinary Nurse.
Due to her husband's career in the Australian Defence force, Renee moved to Victoria, where she worked at an Animal Emergency Center for a short period, before joining the Springvale Animal Hospital team full time in Febuary 2006. Renee also has qualifications in microchip implantation and foster care for sick and injured wildlife, and is currently completing a food nutritional course.
Renee and her husband Adam live on the Mornington Penninsula with their two boys – Kane, a very hyperactive three year old Labrador cross, and Samson, a four year old Domestic Shorthair with a very independent attitude to life.
Casper - General Practice SupervisorCasper has been the resident cat and practice supervisor for the last 5 years, and was a product of the cat adoption program. Her interests include making sure that her human counterparts open doors on demand and provide plenty of nice things to eat and purrfect places to sleep.
Her main occupation at Springvale involves customer relations. She greets every customer as they enter the clinic for a social pat (except those with big dogs in tow of course!)
Pets: Renee, Rowie, Jessica, Kylie, Ruth, Jenny, Roslyn and Matthew - they are yet to realise that they are her personal assistants!!!
