MICROCHIPPING

Microchipping - Helps in safe return of your pet if lost or stolen

A microchip is an electronic chip that is inserted just under the skin  the shoulder blades. The microchip insertion and linking of your pet and your contact details on an approved database is all that is needed to complete this service. There is a once off fee for the life of your pet.

Microchip implantation is required prior to registering your pet with Council for the first time. We have selected and use the widely respected Trovan microchip brand  www.microchips.com.au and the largest and nationally accredited Central Animal Records  database www.car.com.au that operate 24 Hours a day 7 days a week. Central Animal Records is the first Registry accredited by the AVA (Australian Veterinary Association) and the only registry accredited by Domestic Animal Registry Inc –the Registry watchdog. If you change either your contact details or address or your pets details PLEASE contact either us to assist or Central Animal Records. The microchip itself is only the size of a grain of rice and its implantation causes very little discomfort.

Microchips are far more reliable than collars and ID tags as these can be chewed off or lost. Once your pet is microchipped the implant is there for life and whenever you move or change numbers all it takes is a simple phone call to update your records.

It's always a pleasure for us to reunite a lost pet with their owner. When your pet is microchipped it makes the process a lot quicker and more importantly causes a lot less stress to you and your pet.

Council Registration

All dogs and cats require to be registered with your local Council by 3 months of age and renewed annually.

In the Springvale, Noble Park, Keysborough and Dandenong area the relevant authority is City of Greater Dandenong Municipal Council.
