SERVICES

We aim to provide the best quality care according to your instructions and the pets' needs, keeping you informed of your pets progress.

If your pet is undergoing an anaesthetic, please ensure that it doesn't have any food from 8:00pm the night before the scheduled appointment. (No breakfast on the morning of the anaesthetic) We recommend keeping your pet indoors the night before admission.

We request that you bring your pet to an appointment at the hospital between 8:30am and 9:00am on the morning of the procedure. If it is more suitable, you may bring your pet in the night before between 4:00pm and 7:00pm (there is no extra charge for this service). You will be asked to complete an admission form which will state an estimate of costs.

All animals undergoing anaesthetic will have a complete physical examination. We offer the option of pre-anaesthetic blood tests, pain relief and f luid therapy for all pets at extra costs. This may be mandatory in some circumstances. These tests help is minimize anaesthetic complications. Please ask for more information at reception.

We ask that you
phone the hospital after 3:00pm to find out your pets' progress. Most pets are able to go home between 4:00pm and 7:00pm the same night. Please nominate one family member to handle all communication regarding a hospitalized pet to eliminate confusion and any misunderstanding. Please also check all contact details are correct when dropping you pet off and ensure you are contactable at all times throughout the day.

Pet restraints

It is in your pet's best interests and safety to keep them secure. Dogs should be on lead and cats in a cage at all times in and around the clinic. The most critical time is when transporting your pet to and from your car. Frightened pets can be unpredictable and could run out on to the busy Springvale road.

We sell a range of pet collars, leads, harnesses and cat boxes to assist you if you need. We also have cat carry boxes available for rent at a small fee. Please feel free to ask at reception in regards to any restraining products needed.

Referrals

There are now many Veterinary specialists that offer a referral service. If we feel that referral is in your pets interests, we will discuss this option with you. There are specialists available in fields such as – Surgery, Ophthalmology, Dermatology, Cardiology, Internal medicine, Ultrasonography, Oncology and others.
